Google Authenticator is software token that implements two-step verification (2FA) services using th Time-based One-time Password Algorithm (TOTP) and HMAC-based One-Time Password Algorithm (HTOP) to authenticate users (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Authenticator).

The app is available to Android and iOS devices and generates a six to eight digit one time password that should be provided after the username and password are validated. There is also the GAuth add-on for Google Chrome that allows users to have it on their browser.

In summary Google Authenticator enhances the security of an access to a system.

Cangooroo implements the Google Authenticator and the user can link the account by following simple steps:

  • Access the system

  • Go to the top left and click on your name

  • Clik in 'enable Google Authenticator'

  • Scan the QRCode

In the next access the user needs to provide the token after have the username and password validated.
